Ituse Agro was founded to address a persistent challenge in African agriculture: strong demand for food exists, yet production systems remain fragmented, under-capitalised, and highly exposed to climate and market risks. Smallholder farmers, who form the backbone of food production, are often excluded from structured markets, modern energy, and technology.
From the beginning, Ituse Agro was designed as a system rather than a single farm. We established a nucleus farm to anchor production, quality control, and market access and built a structured outgrower model that integrates smallholder farmers into commercially viable value chains.
As the business evolved, we integrated renewable energy to power irrigation, storage and processing, and agritech tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and climate resilience. Today, Ituse Agro operates at the intersection of agriculture, energy, and technology, building resilient, market-led food systems designed to scale.
To build resilient, climate-smart agricultural systems that sustainably feed communities, empower farmers, and strengthen food security across Africa.
To design and operate integrated agricultural models that combine commercial farming, smallholder farmer inclusion, renewable energy, and agritech innovation to deliver scalable, market-led, and climate-resilient food value chains.

The Ituse Agro nucleus farm is the commercial and operational anchor of our agricultural system. It is managed as a fully commercial farm, applying modern agronomy, irrigation, mechanisation, and quality control standards. The nucleus farm produces priority crops, sets production benchmarks, and provides a platform for training, demonstration, and innovation. It also serves as the central aggregation and coordination point for markets and off-takers. By anchoring production and standards at the nucleus level, Ituse Agro ensures consistency, traceability, and reliability across its value chains while reducing system-wide production and market risk.

The Ituse Agro Outgrower Program is designed to integrate smallholder farmers into commercially viable, climate-resilient value chains. We support farmers with access to quality inputs and solar water pump financing, enabling reliable, year-round production and reduced climate risk. Farmers receive training to produce high-value crops, alongside agritech services that enable data-driven decisions on planting, irrigation, and crop management. All participating farmers operate under structured production plans and benefit from a guaranteed purchase of 100% of their harvest, reducing market uncertainty and income volatility. The program directly advances inclusive growth, improved livelihoods, and food security, aligning with SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 7 (Clean Energy), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), while meeting investor ESG standards for social impact and climate resilience.

We deploy renewable energy solutions that directly support agricultural production and post-harvest operations. Our focus includes solar-powered irrigation systems, productive-use energy for processing and storage, and off-grid solutions for farming clusters. These technologies enable year-round production, lower operating costs, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Energy deployment is closely linked to agricultural output, ensuring commercial viability and measurable productivity gains while strengthening climate resilience and environmental sustainability.

We apply digital tools, data, and analytics to support farm management, production planning, yield forecasting, and risk monitoring. In parallel, we collaborate with technology providers, startups, and research institutions to pilot and validate agritech solutions under real operating conditions. Our approach prioritises practical innovation that delivers measurable improvements and can be scaled commercially across regions.
At Ituse Agro, we believe profitability and impact are strongest when designed together. Our business models are built for commercial performance, market-led, disciplined, and scalable, ensuring sustainable returns and long-term resilience. At the same time, our purpose is embedded in how we operate: integrating smallholder farmers into structured value chains, financing productivity through renewable energy, and using agritech to reduce risk and improve decision-making. Guaranteed market access strengthens farmer incomes while stabilising supply. For investors, this means capital generates returns by creating real economic, social, and environmental value. Profit sustains impact, and impact strengthens the business.
